The Puff List is working. The Puff is here for her second visit and what better way to reintroduce her to the BK than to take her to for some Salvadoran pupusas at the Red Hook ball fields. I hear that Singaporeans have elevated street food to high art, so I know what you're thinking: this is a risky move. Thanks to the heads-up from Eating in Translation that this past weekend was the last of the season for the vendors. For those of you not in the know about the ball fields, check this out.
We started off with some fried plantain chips. They were sweet and tasty, though too numerous to finish, especially with pupusas on the way.
For the main course, we shared a combo platter of two pupusas: a pork and cheese and a cheese and loroco flower. As I put in the order, The Puff let me know that the pork and cheese was all hers and I could keep the loroco and cheese for myself.
A few bites in, she changed her mind, her earlier pronouncement forgotten. Both were delicious even though we were unable to taste anything that may have been a loroco flower.
