Du Pain et des Idées - Paris

My "Local" Boulangerie
Ok, so it's not really local - I live in the 3rd and it's in the 10th. Yes, I have to walk like 25 minutes, but let me worry about that, ok? If they're willing to get up at 2am and bake all night for me then the least I can do is hoof it a bit, right? Like La Bourse ou La Vie, this is another example of someone changing careers mid-stream, as explained here.

I've eaten so many good things here, I could post perhaps 32 photos and gush about each one. So, why do I show a simple croissant? Because it's actually made from scratch here (unlike many places, believe it or not) and it's flaky and delicious.

I'm also partial to the green snails - tight swirls of chocolate and pistachio. Not shown, but equally delicious: pain au chocolate-banana, mini-brioche, mini-paves - both savory and sweet, etc and so forth, on and on.... Just go check it out for yourself - you won't be disappointed.
