Higuma - Paris

What's All The Fuss About?
This is one of the better Japanese spots in Paris? I sure hope not. We went prior to the rush on a recent Friday night and settled into the overflow dining room. As we nibbled on the disappointing pork gyoza I wondered why the line to get in often snakes around the corner. The insides were tasty enough but the dumpling skin was undercooked and lifeless.

Next up, an uninspiring ramen with soy sauce and pork. Uninspiring is a word I don't use much, I save it for meals like this. I've got nothing more to say.

Puffin got Katsudon and picked at it quietly. I've only know her for a year but I've learned that's not a good sign. Later, I confirmed my suspicions when I asked if she would ever return to Higuma. "I don't think so." Enough said.

  1. Having lived in Tokyo for a short period of time, maybe I am tougher when it comes to Japanese food. This really doesn't make the cut.

I wonder what's the opinion of Japanese who have tried this..
