B&B Empire - Brooklyn

Two Makes a Trend: Montreal-Style Bagels
I worked in Montreal some years back but it wasn't until Mile End opened that I tried a Montreal-style bagel.  Where my doctor's office once stood, there's now a new place called B&B Empire.  They hand-roll and bake theirs on site, exactly where a female doctor once cupped my sac and asked me to cough.  Come to think of it, I haven't been to a doctor since.  As pervy as this sounds - a bagel with Montreal style is usually skinnier, sweeter and has a bigger hole.
It was weird to sit where the old waiting room used to be, chewing on a bagel.  To be honest, it still felt like a waiting room - they won't be setting the design crowd atwitter.  I'd describe it as hospital hallway meets train station.
I did like my bagel though.  Cinnamon raisin, toasted with peanut butter.  I like the sweetness, which is supposedly because they're boiled in honey water.  I can't tell you if it's authentic, I have no idea.  Will I be back?  Yes.  Would I ride a bus or train to go?  No.  It's about 64 steps from my front door, know what I mean?

  2. @Anonymous - you sound like my better half. She plots the posts like a love graph and complains that the line tilts to the lower right.
